In Science, as in life, we are often presented with a particular set of facts and information from scientific investigations. Great scientists evaluate the data they've gathered and the varied perspectives regarding them. This improves your evaluative skills and your ability to think critically about a specific subject matter..

Watch the attached video and reflect on what you've heard. Your reflection should contain a short summary, a time when someone assumed a single story about you, a time when you assumed a single story about someone else, and how we can broaden our perspective of a particular group of people.

Good morning Scientists!
I cannot keep silent on the issues that the Black community face and you shouldn't either. Last week, I read Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi and it was a powerful reminder of the pains that we experience as a race, from slavery to incarceration. When juxtaposed with the current happenings, police brutality, wrongful convictions, disproportionate Covid deaths of Blacks, it is quite blatant that individual and systemic racism is still existent today. This is the cry of the protesters.

Ms. Gambino and I encourage you to read, listen to podcasts, watch a documentary (try 13th on Netflix) on the roots of the pain we feel. You are not too young to inspire change.

Assignment: Watch this Ted Talk and in no less that 5 sentences, write a reflection on what you heard. A reflection may contain a short summary, your thoughts, examples of something that stand out, etc.

This is due on Friday June 12th.

#ICantBreathe #BlackLivesMatter
Good Morning Student today we are going to be exploring the moon !
Please press the video Apollo 12: The Pin Point Mission. In this video it shows Apollo 12 launched from Cape Kennedy on Nov. 14, 1969, into a cloudy, rain-swept sky. Launch controllers lost telemetry contact at 36 seconds, and again at 52 seconds, when the Saturn V launch vehicle was struck by lightning. In addition to continuing Apollo's lunar exploration tasks, Charles Conrad, Alan Bean, and Richard Gordon deployed the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package, a set of investigations left on the Moon's surface to gather data.
