Hi Everyone. Today is a professional development day for teachers but it is an attendance day for students. We were asked to assign you independent work for today. The math department has decided to assign Imagine Learning. Please log into your account with your DOE email at idpcloud.nycenet.edu. Please spend a total of 30 mins on the lessons they provide. Logging in and doing the work will count as your engagement grade for today. Thank you!
Due:
Good Morning. Today is a reteach of multiplying radical expressions. Please watch video along with the worksheet. I modeled the first 5 and then you have 5 to complete. Please SHOW ALL WORK and let me know if you need any help. Comment below for attendance.
Due:
Good Morning! Today is catch up day. Some you still need to finish i-ready. Some of you did not take the benchmark on Imagine Learning. And some of you still owe me work. Please catch up and complete these assignments today as well as over the weekend. The last day I am updating any late work is Monday so please aim to complete by then. If not the grades will stay as is. Thanks! Have a great weekend!
Due:
Good Morning! We made it to June!!! Only a few weeks left! Today is the last day for late work so I can update everything. Some of you did, but most of you did not make up the work you are missing. Please go through delta math and the assignments on classroom and complete them. Then send me a comment that you did it so I can update your grade. Also, there are a few of you who still have not completed I-ready or Imagine Learning Benchmark. Please do so today. Those of you who did and on time will receive extra credit. Please also use today to review any topics you are still confused on and reach out to me for extra help. Have a good one! Comment below for attendance!

Today I will simplify radicals
so that I can add or subtract radical expressions.
I know I've got it when I can simplify a radicals to "like" radicands so I can add or subtract them.
Hi everyone. I hope everyone enjoyed their day off. Today we are going to start operations with radical expressions. This will involve simplifying non-perfect squares which we did a few weeks ago. Please review if you don't remember how to simplify them, otherwise you will struggle through today's lesson. This lesson was from 4/21. The guided practice/video is on the longer side today so that way you have a good amount of modeled problems to follow. Please make sure you watch the video. Many of you are not and then struggle through your practice problems. The video goes along with the guided practice sheet. You are to complete the Practice Problems sheet for your classwork today. ALL WORK NEEDS TO BE SHOWN OR YOU WILL BOT RECEIVE FULL CREDIT. IT IS OBVIOUSLY CLEAR THAT A FEW OF YOU ARE CONSISTENTLY COPYING FROM EACH OTHER. PLEASE DO THE WORK ON YOUR OWN. Thanks and have great day. Let me know if you have any questions.

Good Morning. Please make sure you read through this assignment today. You are marked present for just commenting that you are here for the day. Today is different. You are marked present by commenting on this post with your assigned DOE EMAIL. If you don't comment with your email address you will be given a 65 for todays grade. Please read the steps below on how to locate your DOE email. You need this for two reasons. 1) This is how your future high school will communicate with you regarding everything you need to know. 2) We are starting a new program tomorrow called Imagine Learning and this email address is what you need to log into the program. So again, follow steps below. Comment below with just your email address. NO PASSWORDS. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks!

Good Morning. After going through your Quadratic Equations assessment a lot of you seem to forget how to solve quadratics using the square root method. Today you will review this skill. This was the most common error on the test along with solving by factoring which we will review tomorrow. Those of you who understood it on the test please complete as some extra practice. Please watch the video if you need a reminder and complete the attached worksheet. COMMENT BELOW FOR ATTENDANCE. Have a good day!

so that I can determine how many and what type of roots a quadratic function has.
I know I've got it when I can describe the nature of the roots of a quadratic equation.
Hi everyone. Hope everyone is doing well. Today's lesson is pretty easy. You can print the attached chart or have it open on one of your devices to help you answer the questions. Please complete the assignment directly on the file or upload a file into the assignment on google classroom. Thanks. Please use the attached link to watch the video on the lesson. It's pretty simple. If you have any questions please reach out.

Today I will use the quadratic formula
so that I can solve for the roots of a quadratic function.
I know I've got it when I can reduce my roots to simplest radical form.
Hi Guys. So today we are going to be using the quadratic formula the same exact way as when we learned it. The only change now is that our answers are irrational. Meaning non-perfect squares. So we are adding yesterday's lesson into the solution. It looks overwhelming at first but if you take your time, watch the video, pause it to make sense of what I am doing, you will get the hang of it. There are 6 questions. I am modeling 3. You are to complete the last 3 on your own WITH ALL WORK SHOWN AND NO DECIMALS IN YOUR FINAL ANSWERS! Please let me know if you have any questions! Have a good one!

Today I will simplify a non-perfect square
so that I can fully reduce an irrational solution to a quadratic equation.
I know I've got it when I can find the solution at any quadratic using the quadratic formula.
Good Morning guys. Today's lesson is just simplifying square roots that are not perfect. So what I mean is that the square of 16 is 4. That is perfect, but if I asked you to find the square root of 8, that is not perfect. It's not perfect because there is no number that you can multiply times itself to give you 8. If you plugged it into you calculator you would get a decimal. I am going to model a few for you in the attached video. Some suggestions I have is to printing (or using) the list of perfect squares attached as it will help you in finding your factors. Also, there should never be any decimals in your answers!!! Your answer is a whole number or must have a radical in it. Please watch the video and complete the ClassWork worksheet. If you want some extra practice you can do the extra practice worksheet.

Hi guys. Today is not really a new lesson. We are just putting all different types of factoring together to solve a quadratic equation. I have attached a video of me solving a few problems so you have model. I also posted a you tube video that is also good. He goes through every type of factoring on the one video. Use it to review if you need. PLEASE STOP THE VIDEO AT 7 MINUTES AND 40 SECONDS. THAT IS TOMORROW'S LESSON. Attached is your work for today and the factoring flow chart you received in class to guide you through the problems. Reach out if you need any help! Miss you guys!
