Based on the description of the "Unknown Organism" below, explain which kingdom the organism should be classified into. Support your answer with evidence from the Kingdoms texts from the past 2 days and key details from the "Unknown Organism Description". After posting your answer, respond to at least two of your classmates’ answers! Sentence Starters: I think we should classify this organism into the _______________ Kingdom. According to the text, I agree with what you said because I disagree with what you said because I agree with what you said and would like to add on
Unknown Organism Description
Dear Biologists,
Inside the box is an organism that has never been seen by humans before. It was recently discovered in the depths of the rainforest. The government has been observing the unknown organism for months now. Below are their observation notes.
Under the microscope we observed that this organism is unicellular. We observed that the organism has a nucleus and all the typical organelles found in a single cell. We noticed that the organism seemed to be very hungry, and therefore we have noted that it cannot make its own food. When we tried to feed it fresh grass it did not eat it, but we noticed days later once the grass started dying it started to eat. It appears to look similar to yeast but yet different.
We need your help to figure out what Kingdom we should classify this new organism into. If you would like you could also give us some name suggestions for this new organism.
