- Child’s Class Number: Is located on your New York City Schools Account. The most accurate class number will be posted this Friday August 29.
- Class Schedules: Your child's official class schedule will be posted on their grade-level Google Classroom by August 29 and the schedule will be available on the NYC Schools parent account.
- 6th Grade: Class of 2028
- 7th Grade: Class of 2027
- 8th Grade: Class of 2026

- Students who take the yellow bus will meet in the auditorium for dismissal.
- Students in the after-school program will go to the cafeteria.
Important Reminders
- Laptops: Your child is required to bring their fully charged DOE-issued laptop and charger to school every day. They are not permitted to use personal laptops. Students must also have wired headphones. Earbuds are not allowed for instructional purposes. If you have any tech issues or need a device, please contact our tech office during school hours.
- Supply Lists: Your child's specific supply list will be given out by their teachers on the first day. In the meantime, here is a list of general items they may need:
- School bag
- Laptop sleeve (13-inch)
- Marble notebooks and folders
- Pens, pencils, and highlighters
- Metro Cards: Eligible students will receive their OMNY on the first day of school.
- After-School Programming: Our full after-school program will begin in October. We will provide more details, including a virtual orientation date, soon. Until after school begins, we will be providing after-care services for families that need child care services. It will be first come first serve for the families that are in need.
- Absences: If your child is absent, it is the parents responsibility to communicate with the school. I.S. 228’s policy is for parents to complete the online absentee form on our school website. You do not need to call the school. If your child is absent, we send a phone call home everyday to make sure families are aware of the absence even if you communicated with us.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's grade-level Assistant Principal:
- Ms. Johnson: Grade 8
- Ms. Liberta: Grade 7
- Mr. Esposito: Grade 6
We're looking forward to a great school year!
