First Day of School: Thursday September 7 7:45am

 

Official Class

7th & 8th Grade--

Official classes will be available on September 6th on the NYC Schools Account. 

Click Student, then you will see official class.

We will also be posting on the grade level google classrooms class numbers & schedules. 

6th Grade--

  • Official classes will be posted on your NYC Schools Account no later than Thursday morning. Please note that we will be determining honors placement at the end of the 1st quarter. It is important to us that we have enough time to get to know your child and collect the most up-to-date data to ensure appropriate placement. It is possible your child may receive a new class starting the 2nd quarter.

**Any class that you may be able to view before Sept 6 is not official. We are still updating and making changes.

Class Programs

Will be available on September 6 on the grade level google classrooms.

6th Grade: Class of 2026

7th grade: Class of 2025

8th Grade: Class of 2024

 

Arrival Procedures: 

Students should arrive no later than 7:55 AM.  Classes begin promptly at 8:00 AM.  All students enter through the Schoolyard entrance on West 4th Street between Avenue S and Avenue T. 

 

School Hours:   

Monday - Friday 8:00 AM – 2:20 PM

After School Hours- Monday- Friday 2:30PM-5:15PM

 

Breakfast is served daily from 7:15 AM - 7:55 AM Monday through Friday.

All Students arriving at 7:15am will go to the Cafeteria for Breakfast.

6th graders will meet in the Cafeteria

7th graders will meet in the 3rd Floor Gym

8th graders will meet in the Auditorium

 

Dismissal:
All students will be dismissed out the door closest to their 8th Period class.

Yellow bus students will meet in the auditorium for dismissal. 

After School students will go to the cafeteria. 

  

Device
You are responsible every day to make sure that you have your DOE device and your charger. Under no circumstances can you use a personal laptop. Laptops should be charged every day, so you are ready for learning the next day. If you do not have a DOE device or have any tech issues, 414 is available during school hours.  *Students MUST have headphones on them everyday. Earbuds are not allowed in the building to be used for instructional purposes. 

 

Magnets: 
You will receive your magnet when you come to school. Students that are below grade level on I-Ready for Math & ELA will receive Remedial ELA or Remedial Math for their magnets. 

  • Magnet classes will be shared with students on Thursday. Students without a magnet assignment will meet with me to select their magnet.

 

Metro Cards:
We will be providing metro cards on the first day for all eligible students. 

 

After School Programming-

As I know many families are very interested in after school. At this time after school will begin in October. We will have a full program running from 2:30-5:15 with more specifics coming.  

After School Virtual Orientation: September 12, 2023 

*If you need After Care Services, please refer to our newsletter on after care support until our after-school programs begin. (Begins September 18, 2023)

 

Supply Lists

Supply lists are given out the 1st day of school from each of your child's teachers. 

Here is a general list of items you may need:

  • Charged Laptop (provided from the school)
  • Wired Headphones (Air-pods are not allowed in the building)
  • School Bag
  • Laptop Sleeve (13 inch) to protect your child’s laptop
  • Marble Notebooks
  • Folders
  • Pens
  • Pencils
  • Highlighters
 

Absentee Form: 

If your child will be absent for this school year, we ask that you fill out the absentee form. You do not need to call the school also. We will be using this form all year long. It will be posted on our school website front page.
