Musical Theater: Mr. Piccinonno

My Project

Our 8th-grade students are excited to bring the magic of theater to life by putting on a full production of High School Musical! This project aims to provide students with an unforgettable experience that combines teamwork, creativity, and confidence-building through the performing arts.

In order to make this production a success, we need support to acquire necessary resources such as props, set materials, a portable stage and technical equipment like fairy lights.

These tools will help us create a vibrant and professional stage environment, allowing our students to shine and develop valuable skills.

This musical will not only entertain our school community but also foster a sense of pride and accomplishment among students. It offers an opportunity for students to learn about stage production, collaboration, and self-expression, inspiring them to pursue their passions and dreams.

With your support, we can transform our school stage into a Broadway-worthy theater and give our students an experience they'll cherish forever. Thank you for helping us make this musical a reality!

Digital Art: Ms. Doerrer

My Project

Our digital art and design class is passionate about exploring innovative techniques like sublimation printing to bring students' creative ideas to life. These projects allow students to develop practical skills in design, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurship, preparing them for future careers in the arts. However, to continue providing these enriching experiences, we need your support. Donations will help us purchase sublimation equipment, materials, and supplies, empowering students to create professional-quality products and gain valuable hands-on experience. Your generosity fuels their creativity and helps nurture the next generation of digital artists and designers.

Art 2:Ms. Marinello

My Project

As we gear up for the 2025-2026 school year, we’re excited to continue inspiring the next generation of artists in our Art-2 Magnet Classroom.

Your generous donations will help us provide wonderful supplies and create a vibrant, creative space where students can truly flourish.

Here at our school we are a Title I school, I have found that providing students with high quality materials and opportunities opens these young artists to what is possible! Every little bit counts, and your support means the world to us and to our future artists!

Art 1: Ms. Banker

My Project

I work with the most amazing middle school students. Each student is unique and has their own story, voice and identity. My students have one thing in common. They are all passionate young artists who love to make art and engage in the creative process.

These materials will provide my students with opportunities to express their thoughts and feelings and create original, colorful, expressive works of art.

Using these art pencils will help them to build their skill sets and produce portfolio and display worthy imagery. Art is such an important tool for building confidence, developing problem solving skills and creating a community where everyone feels a sense of joy and belonging.

Media: Ms. Gilliard

My Project

I teach at one of the few remaining magnet schools in the city that offers a media arts program, making this a rare and valuable opportunity for my students. Many of the students at my Title I school come from low-income housing and have disabilities (SWD), but they are incredibly passionate about storytelling and media production. My students embrace their cultural identities and work hard to build an inclusive, vibrant community.

The resources I am requesting—such as a digital SLR camera, photography backdrop, and snacks—will empower my students to shoot photographs, create short films, conduct interviews, and produce podcasts.

These tools will unlock my students' creativity, boost confidence, and provide vital skills that can open doors to future opportunities. Your support will transform their learning experience and help nurture the next generation of media creators and leaders.

Orchestra: Ms. Garcia

My Project

Oftentimes in school orchestras, students can feel unskilled or untalented due to the lack of quality resources provided to them. Many music supply retailers for school orchestras sell very inexpensive bottom line quality materials that can only allow students to go so far in making a good sound. Two years ago I was so grateful that our school ordered a few new instruments that allowed for our students to fall in love with playing because of the sound they could produce. This year I would like to make sure that every student has the opportunity to have the materials they need to be able to play to the best of their ability so that they can continue to grow as well trained young musicians.

Math: Ms. Barone

My Project

In our inclusive ICT classroom, my students bring a wide range of strengths and challenges. Many of them receive special education services and benefit from accommodations that support their unique learning needs. They are creative, curious, capable and they thrive with structure, visual aids, and hands-on tools.

This project will give them immediate access to key concepts with anchor charts printed on thermal labels.

These can be pasted directly into their notebooks, helping students who struggle with note taking or processing information quickly. The crayons and markers will allow them to color code and organize their notes, improving comprehension and study habits. My goal is to make learning more accessible and to give every student tools that support their success.

Social Studies: Ms. Dalton

My Project

With the fall, we get pollen and dust in the air leading to allergies as well as the normal sicknesses that come with being in such close quarters with others. My students are always inquisitive and creative learners that are excited to be at school, ready to learn and grow with their peers, but they can only do that when they are present and alert in school.

With these supplies, we will be able to create a healthy and comfortable learning environment for our students.

These everyday essentials help reduce the spread of germs, keep classrooms clean, and support students’ well-being, allowing them to focus better on their studies and be present everyday. By providing these items, you will directly contribute to maintaining a safe space where students can thrive physically and academically.

Multilingual Learners: Ms. Liu

My Project

My students are curious, determined, and eager to make sense of the world around them. They come from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, bringing unique perspectives and life experiences to our classroom discussions. Many are multilingual learners who thrive when they can connect new concepts to their own histories and communities. Their excitement grows when lessons go beyond the textbook—when they can see, touch, and interact with history and geography in meaningful ways.

This project will provide the hands-on tools that bring social studies to life.

With maps, globes, historical artifacts, primary source sets, and interactive learning games, my students will be able to visualize historical events, understand geographical relationships, and think critically about how the past shapes our present. Flexible seating will encourage collaboration, while storage solutions will keep materials organized and accessible. Copy paper will be essential for creating graphic organizers, worksheets, and student projects that allow learners to actively engage with content and demonstrate their understanding. A paper trimmer will help prepare these materials quickly and neatly, making it easier to provide students with the resources they need to participate in activities without delay or distraction. These resources will make abstract concepts concrete, helping students at all levels—especially those still developing their English proficiency—fully engage in learning.

My goal is to create an inclusive, dynamic classroom where every student feels empowered to explore, question, and discover. With your support, we can transform our social studies lessons into immersive experiences that spark curiosity and inspire lifelong learning.

ELA: Ms. Keiran

My Project

I am proud to call myself a lifelong Brooklynite. I'm even prouder to say that I teach language arts and reading to a terrific group of 8th graders at a Title I middle school in beautiful Brooklyn, New York. Many of my students face challenges on a daily basis that most of us cannot even dream of, yet they are always looking to the future and for a better life. They know that with hard work and determination, they can make the world a better place.

Have you ever had to tell a child that they just can't have something that you know they need?

As I move to a new school this year, I will find myself without a classroom printer and may soon have to say NO to my incoming classes when they ask to print their work. "NO!" should NOT be part of a child's daily vocabulary at school, but with budget cuts, it has become a sad reality. When a student constantly hears "NO!,” it eats at their soul and makes them feel like they are unworthy – but my students ARE WORTHY!

All students enjoy the professional way that their work looks when it is typed. However, when it comes time to produce a finished project, most are unable to do so because they do not have access to a printer or ink at home. This inability to access simple technology that most of us take for granted really impacts the self-esteem of our students. The inability of students to meet this simple demand is causing stress and low self-esteem which YOU can easily fix!
