Dear Families,
We are writing to inform you about the upcoming Cycle 1 of our ELA and Mathematics Intervention Program, which will run from Monday, October 6 through January 30.
These targeted interventions are designed to provide personalized academic support based on your child’s individual learning needs. Student placement was determined using data from the I-Ready Diagnostic Screeners administered in September. These assessments help us identify areas where students may need additional support, as well as opportunities to extend learning for those performing above grade level.
Intervention Structure:
- Students performing below grade level will receive focused support to strengthen foundational skills and close specific learning gaps.
- Students performing at or above grade level will engage in enrichment activities targeting higher-level thinking and advanced skills within and beyond their current grade level.
Our goal is to ensure all students are supported and challenged in ways that promote academic growth.
What Happens Next:
At the conclusion of Cycle 1, students will complete a second round of I-Ready Diagnostic Screeners in January. Based on these updated results, Cycle 2 interventions will begin on February 1 and continue through May 30, with students being re-grouped as needed to reflect their current instructional needs.
We are excited to begin this important work and look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s continued growth in both ELA and Mathematics. If you have any questions regarding your child’s placement or progress, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child's ELA or Math Teacher.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
I.S. 228 Admin Team
