High School Planning Meeting: 7th Grade (Class of 2027 Only)

🎓 Getting a Head Start: 7th Grade High School Planning

It’s never too early to start thinking about the future! To help your child navigate the high school application process with confidence, we are hosting a series of mandatory information sessions led by our High School Coordinator, Ms. Shakeya.

These meetings are designed to help you understand the application timeline, learn how I.S. 228 supports your family, and begin identifying the best high school fit for your child’s goals.

📅 Meeting Requirements & Logistics

To ensure everyone receives this vital information, we ask that all 7th-grade students attend one meeting of their choice.

  • Who should attend: The 7th-grade student and up to two parents/guardians.
  • What to bring: Please bring your child’s school laptop, as we will be doing hands-on work.
  • Space is limited: To ensure there is enough room for every family, we kindly ask that siblings do not attend.

🌟 Special Session: Students with IEPs

If your child has an Individualized Education Program (IEP), we have a specialized session tailored to your needs. This meeting will focus specifically on the transition from middle school to high school.

  • Date: May 4

Why Attend?

The high school application process can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to do it alone. By attending, you’ll get a clear roadmap of the year ahead and a chance to ask questions directly to our experts.

We look forward to seeing you there and helping your student take their next big step!
