Summer Updates: Important Information for Families

Dear Families,

We hope you are having a wonderful, relaxing summer break! As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to share some important academic updates and reminders to help ensure your student is ready for a fantastic start.

Please review the specific details below for your student's upcoming grade level.

📚 Class of 2027 & Class of 2028 (Incoming 8th & 7th Graders)

ELA Reading

  • Assignment: Summer Reading Assignment

  • Due Date: September 18

  • Action Required: Students must log into Google Classroom, navigate to the Classwork tab, and answer the specific question posted under the summer reading announcement.

Math Practice (Optional)

  • Active Platforms: Students should continue actively working on their assigned Intervention Programs (i-Ready Math, Ascend, or Imagine Math).

  • Weekly Goal: Students are expected to complete at least 1 lesson per week.

  • Availability: Access to these digital math platforms will remain open until August 15.

  • Pathway Adjustments: If a student finishes their current learning pathway and needs a new one assigned, please reach out to Ms. Liberta directly via email or through the Remind app.

 

Suggestion Form - complete on the Grade Level Google Classroom

  • If your child would like to possibly change their magnet or
  • have any concerns for next year please fill out this form posted
  • Not returning to Boody

 

📚 Class of 2029 (Incoming 6th Graders)

ELA Reading

  • Assignment: Summer Reading Assignment (Book Report)

  • Due Date: September 18

  • Action Required: Students must log into Google Classroom, go to the Classwork section, and complete the Book Report question posted there.

Math Practice (Optional)

  • Assignment: Students should complete the "Getting Ready for 6th Grade Skills" PDF.

  • Where to Find It: This document has been shared and is accessible directly on Google Classroom.

✏️ School Supplies & Upcoming Dates

Supply Lists

  • Teacher Lists: Specific supply lists will be provided directly by each individual teacher during the first week of school.

  • All Students Will Need: Headphones, stylus pen, book bag, laptop sleeve, notebooks, pens, pencils, highlighters, calculators T-i 34 scientific calculator

Mark Your Calendars!

  • Back to School Newsletter: A comprehensive newsletter packed with all upcoming school information will be sent home to families by September 4.

  • First Day of School: Classes officially begin on September 10.
