Assignment: Students will be working on skills to prepare them for the
next grade. Each student was given pathway called Summer into
Grade 7,8, or Algebra 1. Imagine Math lessons are designed to be
instructional learning experiences that engage students in
meaningful exploration of understanding mathematics.
Time: Students should be working once a week for about 40 minutes
on the digital platform. Start June 29- August 15, 2020. They should
be logging on for a total of 8 times or 320 minutes.

Students receive instructional support throughout the lesson in 3 main
ways:
1. Feedback that is designed to address misconceptions and
redirect thinking in
response to student work

2. Math Help that is designed to provide direct instruction on the
math concepts behind
a particular problem, available upon student request

3. Live Help that allows students to work directly with a certified
math teacher on their math problem, also available upon student
request

These assignments are mandatory and will count towards your first
quarter Math grade. We will have a report that we can run that tells
us the amount of time a student was on the program. If you have

Your Math assignment for today is to complete an Imagine Math lesson. If you still have not finished the Benchmark, you will have to finish that before Imagine Math shows you the first lesson. Below are the steps that you have to follow to log in and complete the assignment.

2) Click on NYCENET Button. Type in your User Name and Password

4) Click on Start (green button)
5) Complete Benchmark. If you're finished with the benchmark complete a Lesson that is posted for you there.

For this next project, you will be working on strengthening your math skills in adding and subtracting decimals by keeping track of a a virtual checkbook so you'll be ready to maintain your own in the future.

There are videos that explain what a check and a check book are, why do we use checks, and how to keep track of your the money in your checkbook.

The slides are separated into different days of activities.

On each day, you will watch a video (if a link is posted on the slide) and then complete the slides for the day.
You must type into each day's slide and answer the question posted daily to receive engagement credit for the day.

It is important that you log into Imagine Math. Your attendance and assignment grade will be based on the effort you show on Imagine Math.

We will be using a new math program soon, but first we all need to find out our DOE user name and then setting up a password.

•Go to https://idm.nycenet.edu/students/start.form

•Enter your 9-digit Student ID (OSIS) number. (You can find your Student ID number on pupil path.)
•Enter your birthday.
•Click Continue.

•If the information you enter matches your student record, your username will be displayed.

•Your student ID is your username followed by [email protected].

For example:
User Name: JaneD
Student ID: [email protected]

Reply to me to let me know what your Username is, so I know you were able to find out. (Don't send your password! Just your student user name.)


Password Set Up:
•If you haven't already set up a password, you will be asked to set one up.
•Pick a password that only you will know. Choose something easy like your osis or first name 123 (Jane123)
•Re-enter your password.
•Click Update Password.
•Put your password in a safe place so you can look it up if you forget it.

Here is our next Project for Math Class: FlipGrid Geometry!
You will be expected to sign into math everyday and fill out the engagement post + complete the portion of the project due for the day.
By the due date the entire project should be completed and turned in. For this project you will be posting your final project into Flip Grid. (I will post a tutorial on how to use Flip Grid)

We will start a new project today! Our goal will be to create a "7th Grade Math Video Library."
Today we will learn how to research for quality videos that teaches us on how to solve equations.
Then we will add the video onto the Google Slide following my instructions and sample.

We will do this for other topics over time, and then combine all of our Google Slide pages with videos to create our individual libraries. I think it will be awesome when we're done with this project.
